KFC - "Let’s Sign Together"

To embody the ethos of empathy at KFC restaurants, we educated our customers to communicate beyond words and interact with deaf staff by teaching them sign language. The campaign achieved 802,000 views, 848 shares, and 710,000 positive comments.

 

KFC Pakistan provides equal employment opportunities to the deaf community, with seven deaf-operated restaurants in the country. A significant communication gap between customers and deaf staff was identified, which the agency aimed to bridge creatively.

 

KFC empowered its customers with the “Let’s Sign Together” initiative. We created a digital video series to teach people the art of communicating beyond words. In partnership with Deaf Reach Pakistan, “Let’s Sign Together” educated customers on how to greet, order, and pay in sign language. A sign language instructor taught our host, Anoushay Ashraf, all the relevant gestures, which were promoted through KFC’s social platforms.

KFC Pakistan provides equal employment opportunities to the deaf community. To date, the restaurant network has 7 deaf-operated restaurants in Pakistan. A definite gap in communication between the customers and the deaf staff was identified which fell on the agency to bridge creatively.

KFC worked on empowering its customers with Let’s Sign Together. We created a digital series of video content to teach people the art of communicating beyond words. Let’s Sign Together educated customers on how to greet, order and pay in Sign Language, in partnership with Deaf Reach Pakistan. A sign language instructor was assigned the task of teaching our host Anoushay Ashraf all the relevant gestures, promoted through KFC’s social platforms.
